The LAUSD Everyday Heroes Recognition Program honors classified employees who demonstrate excellence in work performance, school and community involvement, and leadership and commitment to our District and students.

This user friendly program allows anyone (employee, vendor, parent, etc.) to submit a recognition message to highlight the achievements of one of our classified employees.  The classified employee who has been recognized, along with his/her supervisor, will receive an email notification informing them of the recognition.

HOW IT WORKS: PROGRAM TIERS & TIMELINE

(updated August 2014)

RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE IN LAUSD EMPLOYEES — (Year around)

Use this tool to recognize classified employees for their excellent contributions.  Recognition messages may be submitted by anyone including an employee's supervisor, co-worker, subordinate, customer, parent, etc.. The recognition form can be completed online or by downloading and printing the form

Once the form has been submitted, the recognized employee, his/her supervisor, and the recognizer will receive an acknowledgment of the message.

IDENTIFY OUTSTANDING CLASSIFIED LAUSD EMPLOYEES — (Two times a year)

An evaluation committee will review all TIER 1 recognitions that have been endorsed by their supervisors to identify one outstanding employee from each of the following categories:

(1) Paraprofessionals
(2) Clerical
(3) Facilities
(4) Transportation
(5) Nutrition (Food Services)
(6) Technical/Professional
(7) Supervisory/Managerial

The selected employees will be publicly recognized either at a Board Meeting, Personnel Commission meeting or both; will receive certificates identifying them as outstanding classified employees; will be featured on the District and Personnel Commission websites and other public venues.

Recipients must be permanent active employees in good standing with the Los Angeles Unified School District.

SELECT EXEMPLARY LAUSD CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Employees recognized in TIER 2 as Outstanding Employees, or employees who are nominated for the CA Classified School Employee of the Year (through the California Department of Education) may be considered for the LAUSD Classified Employee of the Year recognition award.  At the time of award consideration, additional recommendations may be submitted to support the nomination of a particular employee.

A committee will review the nominations and, based on specified criteria, will choose one individual as the LAUSD Exemplary Classified Employee of the Year.
